ADIF to DX MARATHON CONVERSION SOFTWARE

Jim, AD1C, has written a program that will take the ADIF log info from your logging program and create the DX Marathon Score Sheet directly.    Please find details here.  Don't have Excel?  Click here for instructions on how to use Jim's excellent software with Open Office.

DX LAB DX MARATHON TOOLS

DXKeeper tracks your progress towards the current-year Marathon award, and can directly generate a Score Sheet you can submit at year end.  DXKeeper is the logging and award tracking component of the freeware DXLab Suite, which automatically identifies active DX stations needed for the current-year Marathon award; it's available via www.dxlabsuite.com.

Detailed instructions to complete your submission from DXKeeper are here.

INSTRUCTIONS TO USE OPEN OFFICE IN PLACE OF EXCEL FOR THE ADIF TO DX MARATHON CONVERSION SOFTWARE

Before you use the conversion program, download the Excel version of the scoresheet (above) and save it to a convenient place on your computer, Desktop, for example.  Do NOT download the Open Office version.

Once the ADIF to CQ Marathon program is open, fill in the User Information and the 3 drop down input boxes.  When you click on the ADIF Log button, choose your ADIF file that was exported from your logging program.  When you click on the Scoresheet button, select the Excel version of the scoresheet you downloaded.  When you click on Output File, save your log as Call.XLS which is the default in Jim’s program.  Save it to a convenient place, like your desktop.   Then in the actions section, click on Convert.  A dialog box will open and ask if you want to open the scoresheet file you just created.  Select “No”.   Then exit the program.

Start your Open Office program.   Select File, then Open and click on the .XLS file you created above.  Open Office will now display your completed DX Marathon scoresheet.   You should review it thoroughly for any errors, omissions, bad calls, etc.

Once satisfied your submission is complete, AND THIS STEP IS IMPORTANT, do a Save As (NOT Save) and save your completed file – it is OK to overwrite the old file.  Open Office may ask if you want to keep the current format – click on keep current format.  You will now have an XLS file that is ready for emailing.
