Tax Deductible Contributions Now Possible
The DX Marathon Program has made it much easier for our participants and others to contribute to foster the growth of our program. Please look at the hyperlink at the bottom of this webpage and click on it. Why do I say easier? Well for some of us who are interested in making a tax deductible contribution, you can now do that. I was able to work out an arrangemnt with a 501c3 organization called Open Collective. By clicking on the link below, you can read how easy it is to make a deductible contribution. You can contribute a small amount monthly, or just give a lump sum. Payment can be made by check, credit card, or bank transfer. Once the funds are received by Open Collective, they will forward to your DX Marathon organization. Should you choose, you can give anonymously, or you can have your name posted in recognition of your support.
We have had this capability for only a few days and we already have received contributions. Thank you to all that have contributed. If you should have any questions, please feel free to email me direct at wc3w@dxmarathon.com.
I was asked to post this from one of our major contributors. We certainly are not CPA’s but here it is. For US citizens of an age where RMD’s (Required Minimum Distributions from 401K plans) are required, it is worth noting that having RMD money donated directly to a 501c3 organization means that donations will not be subject to tax, and thus reducing taxable income. The donor urges discussion of this as appropriate with their financial advisor, but believes this is the most tax-effective way to donate to the DX Marathon program.
