DX Marathon Challenge

Posted on January 11 2024 by Mark Wohlschlegel • WC3W

I have just posted on the website under the Rules “2024” a clarification of the brand new for 2024 category. It is called the “DX Marathon Challenge”

This award is new for the 2024 program and will be limited to 75 participants. The Challenge will sum the total number of entities and zones that you have worked in 2024 on all the amateur bands (8) including WARC (80m-10m) in CW, Phone, or Digital modes, and rank your total score against the other 74 entrants in this category.

You will need to register your intentions to participate by sending wc3w@… an email no later than February 15, 2024. We will accept participants up to and including the first 75. A reservation will not obligate you to participate in this Award. Should you choose to not participate, you can enter the program in your preferred category, mode, and band.

For those participants who choose this category, this will represent your single entry into the 2024 program. In other words, you will not be able to submit a second entry in another classification. For the first year, there will be no need to specify a category, i.e. Unlimited, Limited, Formula or QRP. All will compete on an equal basis. Those who choose to enter, will work as many CQ DX Countries and zones (as defined on our website,https://dxmarathon.com/resources/countries/. The submittal format will later be determined but you may be submitting 8 scoresheets, one for each band (80-40-30-20-17-15-12-10). The winner will be determined by summing the total number of DXCC entities and zones on each band. Two plaques will be awarded for the Challenge, one for the top score in the world and a second for the runner-up. If you are up to it, send me an email to register.
