2025 Claimed Scores Posted
Ladies and Gentlemen:
As promised to you, the DX Marathon Administrative staff stated we would get out Claimed scores between a week and 10 days from the final
submission date. Well, today is one week, and we have published the Claimed Scores on our website.
Please go to https://dxmarathon.com/results/2025/ to see the scores. These claimed scores do not include the entire participant population,
only those who claimed scores places them in the top 5-10 in the major categories.
Please understand what Claimed Scores represent. The DX Marathon staff will take the Claimed Scores and begin our scoring effort over the
next six weeks. What this means is that we will be checking those claimed scores
for errors. As I reported last year, most errors will fall into the following categories.
- Calls that are in fact Pirate operations
- Wrong DXCC entity listed
- Wrong Zone entity listed
- Calls not found (could be typos or nonexistent calls)
- Invalid band claimed, e.g. we no longer accept 2M or 4M DX
- Maritime or Aeronautical mobile stations (not allowed)
- Not in Log (yes we do obtain select DXpedition logs)
- Station worked that are claimed outside the range for which that DXpedition was operating (most likely pirate operation)
When we finish our scoring to include the above categories, we will arrive at a “Verified” score. That will be your score and we will use for special certificates and plaques as specified in the Rules. Remember, this year for the first year 100% of the participants will receive a certificate listing their most significant accomplishments.
Reminder: We do our absolute best at being accurate in this scoring process. We seldom make mistakes based on our history.
Our Verified scores will be final and not subject to change. In my history to my knowledge, any mistake we may have made has
not affected the rankings.
My aim is to have the final postings on or around April 1st with my summary article posted on the website.
